August 2023

A rewind of the month & some of my favourite things.

August is one of my favourite months of the year. The weather is hot, the lake is finally warm and there is a buzz in the air to soak up every second before it is gone. I also turned thirty years old this August and it was one for the books. My best friend travelled to surprise me and we spent a few days out at the family cabin. Side note, why don’t people tell you the good things about getting older? Why is it we dwell on the negative? This year I could feel myself settling into my skin and I had a lot of moments where I seen life differently all of a sudden. In short, it has been the most beautiful journey and I am looking forward to my thirties.

I also got to work with some amazing brands & I would love to share them again with you here:

GLD Jewelry

It’s GLDN offers handmade personalized jewelry. Each piece is made from recycled materials that are sustainably and domestically sourced. Items are made to order with almost zero waste and their brand comes from humble beginnings. I had to honour of ordering a few pieces for myself and chose a new gold chain to hang my J pendant on as well as ring with James’ birth flower. I will share the link here: SHOPGLDN

DINE WITH FABLE

I have had the Fable Dinnerware in my home since February. Not one dish has cracked, changed colour or scratched. I love the organic feel to each piece and the fact that they are one of a kind. Dine with Fable is not interested in one time use products - these pieces are heirloom quality that will last. Made with sustainability in mind, Dine with Fable also has a close relationship with the makers. Their story is worth reading and their dishes are worthy of being on your shelf for years to come. You can shop Dine with Fable HERE using my code: MYNAVYHOMECO to save. I have the set in speckled white.

POKOLOKO

I have worked with Pokoloko a few times now and enough to know that their pieces and company are truly something to be proud of. I encourage you to read the “about” on their web page. The way they honour their makers is amazing. It is a beautiful relationship and that energy translates into their garments. Notes about sizing: A lot of pieces are labelled “One Size”. For me, I usually wear and XS on the top and a S on the bottom. I found that the dress was loose but not to the point I could not wear it (I wore that dang dress all summer long!). My mom, who wears a size M, also fit the articles of clothing beautifully with plenty of room.

BOUTIQUE RUGS

Did you watch this space come to life? I have said it a million and one times and I will say it again…a rug grounds a space! I chose the Jurek Beige & Brown Checkered Area Rug linked HERE in a 7’8’’x9’9’’. Boutique Rugs have over 40,000 rugs to choose from that vary in style, colour, materials and size. You can also use my code: NAVYHOME to save 10%

That is a wrap on August! Well, as much as I want to blog about anyways.

I hope the memories of this month burn in my brain forever.

Thanks for being here, eh? Without you and your support…well, I guess I just wouldn’t be here now would I? You guys make it worth it and fill my cup.
