The Cabin
The cabin is owned by my Aunt & Uncle who generously let me enjoy every second here and treat it as my own. It will be a place we always try to keep in the family as it is very special to us all. The getaway is located on a local lake and one of the first lake front properties developed here. Fun fact, Elvis Presley’s secretary once owned it as a hunting cabin.
We all grew up on this cold as f*ck lake and when the opportunity came for my Aunt and Uncle to purchase it, they did everything they could to make it happen. Throughout the 15? 16? years my aunt and uncle have owned it, the cabin had seen little change until 2023. I loved it as is and we spend 98% of our time outdoors but always dreamt up what I would do to it - because that’s just what I do. After some wine in late July, a plan started to brew. My Aunt is a kick ass cook and we decided it was time to crack open the can of worms to relocate the kitchen.
Relocating the kitchen allowed for two bedrooms instead of one and a kitchen that overlooks the lake. That extra bedroom will be where me and my family stay - bunk beds and so much more room for activities (step brothers quote that will never die).
Anyway, the cabin is where I feel the most like me - as soon as I walk towards the lake I can feel myself being grounded once again. More than that, it is a beautiful place to spend time with my son and we stay here 70% of the time during the summer.

the Kitchen:
Cabinets: My Kitch Canada in a Shaker Bevel Style | Colour: Sage
Kitchen Island: Custom Made
Wood Stain: The cabin is a panabode style home made out of cedar. In the kitchen, we used pine to imitate the original walls while using a custom stain mix.
Countertops: Matte Black Laminate from Home Depot.
Appliances: Old - need to be updated.
Floors: Plywood and painted with Rustoleum - That is about as much as I know because I suck at writing down products used.

the Master Bedroom:
Bed Frame: We custom made this bed frame and upholstered it in fabric from Kovi
Red Blanket: We ordered two and sewed them together with an exposed seam.
