The Bedroom

The bedroom has seen a lot of change over the past several years. The goal here is to feel a sense of peace and calmness. I would say my decor is kept to a minimum here because I need this space to breathe.

The DEETS:

Paint: Farrow & Ball Old White No 4

Bed: We custom made this! A DIY Guide is coming soon..

Mattress: Endy. I have partnered with Endy and LOVE their mattress. In the future, I would opt for the Endy hybrid.

Rug: If we have one down, it is usually Loloi. Sometimes I like the room without a rug.

Bedding: I like to switch my bedding up from time to time but you can always count on me having a duvet with a cover. I need my duvet to be as fluffy as a cloud but light as a feather. Dressing a bed up is fun, but honestly I keep it so simple here because I can’t be bothered.

Pillows & Throws: Majority of my Pillow Covers come from Rug & Weave. You just can not beat the quality and they are timeless. Shop HERE

Curtains: Two Pages/Curtarra

Night stands: Hand made by yours truly.

Wardrobes: Purchased from Ikea over 10 years ago. Sorry!

Wall panelling: Knotty Cottage Pine (Tongue and Groove) purchased at Castle Building.

Floors: Douglas Fir planks made by a local mill.

the Bedding:

Forever a linen lover over here. I work with multiple brands to bring you linens at different price points. All of which are great quality and so super soft! The darker bedding is from Somn Home and you can shop similar bedding HERE. Our Duvet is from Costco and believe it or not, it is the best dang duvet I have ever had. I found a great Canadian company that has sustainable and ethical practices linked below but if you are wanting something more budget friendly, I linked that as well. When you look for a duvet, make sure it has a high loft count (+600), box construction, cotton, and RDS Certified.

the Lighting:

Good lighting on a budget? Good luck. I don’t mind my current chandelier but I have been dreaming of something different. Our sconces were the biggest lighting purchase ever made but the best lights I have ever bought. They are heirloom quality and I will have them forever - see the difference? I am becoming bougie.

the Rugs & Pillows:

the Drapery:

I have the Liz Polyester Linen Pleated curtains in Ivory White (1908-2). They are room darkening and triple weave. With my wall of windows and tall ceilings, I love the customizable features. The way the curtains hang and hold their shape is amazing and adds a lot of structure to the space. The curtain rod I used is pretty cool…you can adjust the length while not compromising strength.
